Personality
Kane is one of the kindest assholes you'll ever meet. He's frank and honest to a fault, as he'll insult you if he wants to, and if he truly believes it to be true. He won't say something he knows to be false without a really good reason. He is also one of the hardest workers you'll ever meet. If he wants something, he will work until he gets it, not taking short cuts, because he knows in the end it won't work as well if he takes those short cuts. If he puts his mind to something, he'll get it done. He'll practice his heart out at Quidditch, if he wants to get good grades in certain classes, he'll spend most of his time studying.
However, his priorities aren't really that great when compared to others. He cares more about Quidditch and dating people - he wants to be a professional quidditch player like his father once wanted to be, and he just really likes both girls and boys. Kane knows if he doesn't get what he wants right away, it'll come eventually if he works hard enough. Such a philosophy came from the combination of his father and his mother, though his mother was more used to underhanded techniques (like trying to slip Harry Potter a love potion), and his father was more of the type who was talented at everything he tried with minimal effort, especially when it came to sports. At least his parents grew up and weren't quite as cocky and underhanded as they were in their school years giving rise to Kane and his siblings.

History
Kane's father met his mother in 1996, when his mother was trying to get with Harry Potter, and well, his father was trying to get with Hermione Granger. They found they were in the same type of boat, the one they wanted to be with didn't want them and that was insane - how could they not? While plotting ways to get with the one they wanted, Harry ended up getting with Ginny Weasley and Romilda was heartbroken. Cormac comforted her, and after that the two hit it off.
Eventually, after the war, the two had three children, Kane among them. Kane was always a sweet boy, and helped those who lived around them. When he was two years old, he caught a bag an old muggle lady dropped when he was almost a block away. Of course, the old lady and the witnesses had to be obliviated, but it wasn't so bad. His parents were proud of him and got him his first broomstick. He was a natural really, but he got better because he was always on that little broomstick and wore it out so much.
When he went to Hogwarts he was sorted into Hufflepuff, and was pretty quickly a popular kid. In his fourth year he joined the Quidditch team, and this year he was made captain of the quidditch team, which he was very much proud of. After all, he did work extremely hard to get to this point. The thing was, his grades weren't great, just enough to pass. He does quite enjoy History of Magic and tends to do very well in that class, despite its reputation of being boring.
